Thursday of Cedar: Malachi 3

  • There are going to be times when it seems like our faith is in vain–when others are having relationships, getting the promotions, having fun at bars, etc. (3:14,15)
  • God listens in on our conversations though, and this week, we’ve been filling his ears with good things–and he’s delighted!  not only that, but God remembers. (3:16)
    • some good things are done and it seems like no one notices, or it might take a while.
    • But God takes note, he remembers.
  • Treasured possession–it’s only used 4times in the OT (3:17)
  • family relationships (3:!7) you are mine.  He is my father.  Redemption of the family relationships–he will never disappoint me, even though my mother, father, brother, husband, friends, all will.
  • God of the NT–Malachi–>2nd Peter 3
  • God’s days are like 1000–> hes being patient with us.
  • Malachi 4:2  “But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall.”  One day, all those ugly events will be uncovered and God’s justice will pour down.
  • You knew about this Jesus and you never told me?! –>fire of judgement is coming
